BROWN'S MART PRECINCT
The Rehearsal Room:
Located in the Brown's Mart Administration block, The Rehearsal Room has a polished hardwood timber floor and pitched roof with a raked ceiling with exposed timber trussing, giving the room a grand impression of space.
The Rehearsal Room has a maximum capacity of 30 people.
Features include:
- Tables and chairs
- Whiteboards
- Desk
- PA
- Access to Kitchenette with basic Tea and coffee facilites
- Wireless Internet
- TV available by request
The Brown's Mart Rehearsal Room is a versatile space, and can be used for the following:
- Theatre production rehearsals or developments
- Workshops
- Meetings
Please note: Hirers must provide their own Public Liability Insurance
The Courtyard Room:
The Courtyard Room is the resident home of Happy Yess. Happy Yess support local live original music, and operate a Friday and Saturday night program which engages local bands and musicians from all musical genres.
Outside of these nights, the Courtyard Room is available for hire through Brown's Mart.
Features include:
- Funky and fresh vibe
- Black box style room
- 450mm High Stage
- Lighting and Sound Equipment (Please discuss with Venue Manager)
The Courtyard Room is a versatile space, and can be used for the following:
- Workshops
- Meetings
- Rehearsals and other gatherings or functions.
Please note: Hirers must provide their own Public Liability Insurance. Also, any requests for use of the Happy Yess PA equipment will need to be negotiated with Happy Yess management.

The Courtyard:
The Browns Mart Courtyard is a paved area which is the heart of the Browns Mart Precinct.
A White picket fence separates the Courtyard from Smith Street, The Darwin Bus Depot and Civic Park.
Over the years the Browns Mart Courtyard has housed many outdoor music and theatre events and it plays a big part in Darwin arts and cultural history.
Features include:
- Tables and chairs
- Direct access to the Brown's Mart Bar
- Accesss to ammenities
- Dedicated smoking area
Please consider that Browns Mart is a licensed venue when planning your event, and BYO is not available.
The Brown's Mart Courtyard can be hired as an incorporation of your event in the Theatre, Rehearsal Room
or Courtyard Room. Or it can be hired separately for an out door event or function.
