His Own Special Friend by Dr Dino Hodge was a one-hour performance about the history of homosexual men in Darwin, an insight into the rubbing edge between frontier men of diverse sexuality and the development of gay sensibility in one of Australia’s most multicultural cities. Originally developed through historical records and oral histories, we’ll look back on the script, the men, and the town it was staged in.
Postponement: Keep Him My Heart
Brown’s Mart sends our deepest condolences to the Lee family with the recent incredibly sad news of the passing of Larrakia elder Tony Duwun Lee.
Tony was a deeply loved and respected artist who made a significant impact as a leader in our community, and he will be greatly missed.
Out of respect for the Lee family at this heartbreakingly difficult time, Brown’s Mart will be postponing one half of our PlayFull: Double Bill on Saturday 1 June: Keep Him My Heart by Gary Lee.
His Own Special Friend by Dr Dino Hodge will still be going ahead, commencing at 7:30pm.
We are committed to working with the Lee family towards sharing the PlayFull: Keep Him My Heart event with audiences later in the year.
